CAS Cold Atom released the first atomic quantum computer in China - Han Yuan—1

     On the morning of 11 June 2024, ‘Wuhan Quantum Forum-2024’ was grandly opened, with academician Dou Xiankang, Director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, academician Zhang Pingwen, President of Wuhan University, as well as academicians Ye Zhaohui, Xu Hongxing, and Zhu Shining attending the conference. At the conference, CAS Cold Atom released the first atomic quantum computer in China, Han Yuan—1, and unveiled it with the real machine.     


    HANYUAN-1 features a cabinet design comprising a physical cabinet and two circuit cabinets,capable of operating in a standard indoor environment without the need for a cryogenic system. It is easy to deploy locally, offering high adaptability, high stability,good security, and high integration.


    HANYUAN-1 is the first atomic quantum computer developed by CAS Cold Atom Technology Co., Ltd. It uses single atoms cooled and trapped by lasers as quantum bits, with a quantum bit count exceeding 100. It employs microwave-based single-qubit quantum gates with a fidelity greater than 0.999 and has the capability for multi-qubit entanglement and arbitrary qubit connections. It is suitable for both global control quantum simulation and circuit-based quantum.


    With the launch of HANYUAN-1, CAS Cold Atom will continue to increase its R&D investment in the field of quantum computing, promote the continuous innovation of quantum computing technology, and explore the practical applications of HANYUAN-1 in the fields of combinatorial optimisation, quantum simulation, quantum finance, medicine and chemical industry, quantum-ultra fusion, and machine learning. CAS Cold Atom will also further industrialise, modularise manufacturing, expand production capacity and accelerate the commercialisation of atomic quantum computers. In addition, CAS Cold Atom said that it will aim at the research and development of atomic quantum computers and fault-tolerant computers with thousands of bits to achieve higher performance targets and meet market demand. At the same time, we strive to cooperate with more fields and deepen cooperation with upstream and downstream enterprises in the quantum technology industry chain to improve product performance and promote product applications.
